Privacy Policy
Effective date: 25 October 2026
Sila is a product of Technology Foundry S.A.E. ("we", "us"), a joint-stock company registered in Egypt (Commercial Register No. 281215, Tax Registration No. 773-910-549), at 22B Taha Hussein Street, 8th Floor, Apartment 34, Zamalek, Qasr El Nil, Cairo, Egypt.
This policy explains what personal data we handle when you visit our website, request a demo, or use Sila, and what we do with it.
Our role
- Data inside Sila belongs to the client company. Sila is used by businesses ("clients") to capture and share their operational knowledge. The client decides who is added to Sila and what is recorded there, and we process that data on the client's behalf and on its instructions. If you are a client's employee, your employer is responsible for your data in Sila, and you can contact them or us.
- For the rest, we decide. That means website visitors, demo requests, and the contact and billing details of our clients' administrators.
What we collect
On our website
- Demo requests: your name, work email, company, phone number (optional) and message.
- Visit statistics: anonymous page-visit counts through Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and does not identify you.
Inside Sila (added by your company or by you)
- Account details: name, work email, phone number (if provided), job title, department, manager, hire date and years of experience, seniority, role in Sila, preferred language, and form of address (set by your company's administrator).
- Knowledge content: your answers in knowledge-capture interviews, the procedures (SOPs) written from them, review comments, and files uploaded to help build your company's knowledge map.
- Questions and answers: questions you ask the Sila assistant and the answers it gives.
- Usage records: sign-in and activity records needed to run the service, notifications, and technical error reports.
Payments
- The name, email and phone number of the person paying.
- Card details are entered on Paymob's secure payment page. We never see or store your card number.
- We keep a record of each payment (amount, date, result and Paymob's reference).
Why we use it
- To provide Sila: sign-in, interviews, writing procedures, search and answers, notifications and emails.
- To take payments and manage subscriptions.
- To answer demo requests and support questions.
- To keep the service secure and to find and fix errors.
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
The legal basis for using your data
- Providing Sila: to perform our contract with your company. For data about a client's employees, we act on that company's instructions, and the company is responsible for having a lawful basis to share it with us.
- Demo requests: to answer the request you sent us, before any contract.
- Payments and tax records: to perform the contract, and to meet our legal duties, such as tax law.
- Security and fixing errors: to provide the service safely, as the contract requires.
- Where we ask for your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect what was done before you withdrew it.
Artificial intelligence
Sila uses AI services to run interviews, write and translate procedures, and answer questions:
- Anthropic writes, translates and answers.
- OpenAI powers search.
Content needed for each task is sent to these providers. Under their business terms, they do not use it to train their models. AI-generated content can contain mistakes: in Sila, procedures are reviewed and approved by people at your company before they are published.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers we need to run Sila, each limited to its task:
- Convex — Database — European Union (Ireland)
- Clerk — Sign-in — United States
- Vercel — Website and app hosting, visit statistics — United States
- Anthropic — AI writing, translation and answers — United States
- OpenAI — AI search — United States
- Resend — Sending emails — United States
- Sentry — Technical error reports — European Union (Germany)
- Google — Storing demo requests — United States
- Paymob — Card payments — Egypt
This means your data is stored and processed outside Egypt, including in the European Union and the United States.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Data inside Sila: for as long as the client has an account. After a client's subscription ends, it is deleted within 90 days, unless the client asks us to delete it sooner or the law requires us to keep it.
- Technical error logs and email delivery records: deleted automatically after a short period.
- Demo requests: kept until the person becomes a client, tells us they're not interested, or we stop following up.
- Payment records: kept for as long as tax law requires.
How we protect it
- All connections are encrypted.
- Each client's data is kept separate from other clients'.
- Inside Sila, people only see what their role allows: for example, restricted procedures are hidden from those who are not allowed to see them.
If a security incident affects personal data, we will tell the affected client and act as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how it is used.
- If you use Sila through your employer, please contact your company's Sila administrator first, or contact us and we will work with them.
- We reply within 30 days.
- You can also withdraw any consent you have given us.
- If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center.
Cookies
- The website sets no cookies for statistics. If you switch language, it sets one cookie to remember your choice.
- The Sila app uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and one cookie that remembers your language.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If the changes are important, we will tell our clients.
